My roof and back boot was working properly earlier, after unload my shopping and roof closed, everything still fine, few minutes later I just want a quick clean the back boot and it doesn't open, no clicking sound at all, seems like no power:o would that be blown fuse or anything else? My car is TT, so back seats are unfoldable, but there's a gap which my arm can get through and reach the fuse box. Looking at manual but didn't say anything about what fuse for the back boot, anyone please help!!!!
My car use version B fuse box. Any help or anyone who knows how to open the back boot when power is cut:'( pleassssssssse. Here what I found today: Back boot certainly still locked, Rear wind screen heating not working:( Ultrasonic alarm works but not two sensors:o Check all fuses under bonnet and they're fine. As I said my rear seats are unfoldable, but there's a small door behind arm rest which let me able to see the fuse box, some fuses are facing toward this way, so I can see they're ok, and the rest of them I just put my hand/arm to reach and try to pull out as many as I could, so far nothing wrong(those that I could reach). I even disconnect the battery and let it reset but still the same:( Yesterday I was wiring footwell lighting through the reading lights, would that cause any current shortage? My friend said that this car might have more than one module and for some safety reason one of it cut off the power, does that make sense? Any Vx mechanics here or anyone, please help!:'(:'(:'(.
Isnt there an emergency kit to operate the roof? Could be a switch sticking so the car thinks the roof is down, certainly sounds that way as the ultrasonic sensors are disabled with it down, prob the heated screen too. Still under warranty? Can you see fuse 34 in teh REC? No, the roof is closed, so its lucky:) Emergency kit only for in the event the roof is unable to close and still inside the boot, so it won't help. And warranty had long gone:( Strangely there's no fuse 34 in there, I was thinking about that as well:sus: So, how the roof operate if the fuse wasn't there at the first place?
Its gongs, maybe boot is locked so cause that. TBH, the boot wouldn't be able to open and I unload my groceries if the roof didn't close completely or properly, the first time was fine(open then close), then I open it again and when closed, it locked:blink: I might try one more thing tomorrow, is, get something like two brush or mob handles, which are long enough, push the compartment blind and close it from the small door behind arm rest, then try to operate the roof or open the boot, if not, then, a trip to dealer. Reet fella tommorow check the boot lid make sure that not only the boot latch is closed check that both hinge latches ie either side of the front of the boot iuslocked it aswell as the car now knowsthat theroof is not in a knownposistion. The common things that go wrong are:- the parcelshelf motors stick the wiring harness on the n/s boot hinge rubs through if you want to open the boot then through the hatch in the middle insert a broom pole with a hook on down to the lock were you will need to flick the white lever over to releasre the boot. Is this photo taken from TT? If so, I try to find the white switch tomorrow. Yes this photo was taken from a twin top today if you remove the access panel in the middle of the two rear seats and shine a torch through yo will see my photo pic on the rear boot lid.

But i warn be careful not to knock the cable off as then it will cost a lot for a dealer to fix(Y) basicall you have to move the white piece of plastic to the side to strech the cable thus releasing the boot Does the roof still work if not does it give a audible bleep. Was talking to Vx mechanic and he reckon there has a circuit current shortage, so will go down there on friday n let the tech2 do the talk. Was talking to Vx mechanic and he reckon there has a circuit current shortage, so will go down there on friday n let the tech2 do the talk. The car will give a audible beep over 20mph if it thinks the roof has not finished it's cycle or if one of the microswitches or hall sensors are not in the correct position.
If you never used the roof and the boot stopped working there's a good chance that there is a broken wire on the nearside boot hinge loom.
The chassis has been specially reinforced to balance the absence of the roof structure, adding extra protective strength in impact situations.
